This place is the place where all of Hawaii stays when they are in Vegas. Vacations Hawaii has the ultimate deal which includes room, air, and food. You can't go wrong with that! If you go into Main Street or The Cal, it seems like you are in Hawaii, just with slot machines.
When we stayed at the Main Street in 2009, we didn’t like what Downtown Vegas had to offer. The strip by far has more things to do and see. However, we needed to see Downtown Vegas today because of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop and The Mob Museum was on our agenda.
After visiting the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, we decided to head towards Fremont Street. I did some spotty research the night before which yielded me some interesting results. Some guy wrote a blog and some of his findings were mighty interesting. Two interesting things I found out were 1) A piece of the Berlin Wall was in the men's bathroom at the Main Street Hotel 2) Binions has a million dollar showcase.
While walking on Freemont Street we saw a place selling fried twinkies for $0.99, so we had to go and eat it. After a long wait, we put the fried dessert in our mouth, it was amazing! After that, we passed Binions Casino. I somehow forgot what was in Binions even though I just did research the night before. Too much alcohol lead to memory loss, so I told Michelle lets go in to jog my memory. Low and behold in the front is the Million Dollar Showcase. You can take a picture with a million dollars. Michelle and I took turns taking pictures with the million dollars.
Next, we went the Main Street Station Hotel. Last time I was here, I didn’t realize that a piece of the Berlin Wall was in the men’s bathroom. I must have taken 10 pisses in there and didn't notice the Berlin Wall. I went into the men’s bathroom and there it was, a piece of the Berlin Wall with all the history plastered on the wall. The last stop in Downtown Vegas was the mob museum...
