E was off on this day. Sensei and I were off too. On our last day of Spring Break, we decided to revisit Waikakalaua. E and I have been here at least 4 times already, so we already knew our way. Sensei hasn't been here, so he was in for a treat. This is the type of trail Sensei likes to do.
We started at 10am. The best place to start a trail...in a residential neighborhood where no one bothers. It took us 40 minutes to get to Waikakalaua Ridge. Sensei seemed impressed at what the trail had to offer. It's just a cool place to hike. From the ridge, I thought it would be fast to the paperbark corridor, but it took 45 minutes. When we got there, it was money. Sensei was impressed and we loved it. E brought his hammock and we tried it out. It was interesting.
After a 45 minute rest, we left and headed towards the jeep road. Waikakalaua is a great trail in the middle of Wahiawa and Mililani towns. One day we will clear the top of it and go to Ka'aumakua. Before exiting, we went to Paradise Pool. During heavy rains, this pool would be awesome.
Going back from the pool only took us 12 minutes. E drove us to Mililani Restaurant where we ate their infamous fried saimen. Sensei was laughing because the next 10 orders were all fried saimen.
