It's been about 5 years since I've done Wiliwilinui. I've done Wailupe and crossover which could be considered doing Wiliwilinui, but it's not the same. Shell has been working out religiously and wanted to tackle an intermediate hike. One hike of interest was Wiliwilinui.
I emailed OAG’s to see if anyone wanted to come. Sensei and DJ were interested. We started at 9:40am. Late, but probably a good time to start. I was shocked most of the way and we thought that a view probably wouldn't happen today. Low and behold, Sensei thought that Shell brought good luck and in about 15 minutes, it opened up to a crystal clear view. We were so fortunate. DJ took some amazing pictures. Sensei was taking 360 degree pictures which is pretty amazing.
I was cold up there and wanted to eat something hot. That's thought for next time. Heading down was a little slippery. I was worried about Shell because she doesn't have the proper footwear, but she did well. I think everyone's knees were sore, except DJ's.
It was good to get out there again. Shell and I ate at The Counter after. The burger there is good, but needs to be a bit more greasy.
