Nohu

Nohu

I never really see this plant anywhere but in landscaping areas. The book says it is a secure plant, however, I promise I don't see this plant much on Oahu. In fact I don't think I ever seen it in the wild.

Background Information

Nohu is a coastal plant that is indigenous to Hawaii. The plant acts as ground cover and is said to have these spines. The yellow flower is a dead give away, and usually is in bloom. The Ancient Hawaiians used the plant for medicine mainly to treat pain.

Nohu

As you can see it is ground cover and has pretty yellow flowers. The scientific name is Tribulus cistoides
