Kolomona

Kolomona is fairly common, but can be mistaken for other plant because it looks similar to other plants.

Background Information

Kolomona is in the pea family, the same family as Koa & Wiliwili. It grows as a shrub and not much taller. It occurs from the low lands to up to 1800 feet of elevation. It also can grow in disturbed places with the non natives. There is only 1 indigenous species of Kolomona.

The flower is a pale green and looks like a claw of some sorts. The leaves are arranged pinnately varying in sizes. The scientific name senna gaudichaudii.
